In the NuaDHA® 1000 and NuaEPA® 1200 batch reports we reviewed, mercury stayed below the lowest level the laboratory can measure (the report shows this with a “<” sign). Yes. You can take one NuaDHA® capsule in the morning with food and one NuaEPA® capsule in the evening with food: two separate formulas at two different times of day. Before taking a food supplement, it is advisable to consult your physician or pharmacist.
At one capsule a day, 30 capsules last 30 days and 90 capsules last 90 days. The 30-capsule box is for trying the routine. The 90-capsule box is for a three-month routine. The 90-capsule formats of NuaDHA® 1000 and NuaEPA® 1200 are also NSF Certified for Sport®. NuaDHA® 500 comes in 30 and 60 capsules, and NuaEPA® 450 in 90 capsules. These two products are taken at 1–2 capsules a day, so how long a box lasts depends on your dose.

If you take medicines regularly, and especially a blood thinner (an anticoagulant or antiplatelet medicine), consult your physician before you start an omega-3 supplement. re-TG (re-esterified triglyceride) is a concentrated form of omega-3 that has been returned to the natural triglyceride structure of fish oil. The ethyl ester form created during purification is bound back into a triglyceride structure by the re-TG process. All Nua Series products (NuaDHA® 1000, NuaDHA® 500, NuaEPA® 1200 and NuaEPA® 450) are in re-TG form.

The raw material is wild anchovy (anchoveta) caught by sustainable fisheries. According to the manufacturer NUA, the omega-3 is purified by supercritical CO₂ extraction and chromatography. No chemical solvents are used in this process.

The manufacturer NUA states that natural vitamin E is added to the capsules to protect the oil from oxidation. NuaDHA® 500 also contains natural lemon flavouring. The full ingredient list is on the box label.
The aftertaste people notice with fish oil supplements is mostly linked to oxidation of the oil. The oxidation level is measured by the TOTOX value. In the last six batch reports we reviewed, TOTOX was between 6.69 and 12.84 (programme limit 19.5). Personal experience can vary. Taking the capsule with a meal and storing it in a cool place may help.
NuaDHA® 500 can be swallowed whole, chewed, or cut open and its contents mixed into a food such as yoghurt or purée. NuaEPA® 450 is a small capsule the size of a coffee bean.
Store in a dry, cool place below 25 °C. In summer you can keep them in the fridge if you like. Keep out of the reach of children.
The products are purified from fish oil. If you have a fish allergy, consult your physician before use. The risk of an allergic reaction varies from person to person, and these products have not been tested separately for people with a fish allergy.
The manufacturer NUA advises caution with EPA during pregnancy, in young children and in people taking blood thinners. If one of these applies to you, consult your physician before taking NuaEPA®.
